Having now reistalled Win TV 8.5 at least 5 times, I contacted Hauppage over the problem for assistance. I was contacted by hauppauge whos' engineer tried to sort it out remotely, with no success.

He suggested that I do several things that I had already done, including once again reinstalling from their website. I complied as instructed, unfortunately, to no avail. Sound OK, Scanning fine, no picture just a blank green screen. Whether this only happens on version 8.5 of Win TV, no idea. However, one of you mentioned that v7 of Win TV was ok on his computer. No question in my mind that this is caused by Microsofts latest hiccup, update 1803. Considering using a backup to put V1709 back on, even though this backup needs updating.

Engineers thoughts:- 'It looks like the video renderer is not sending the live TV image to the graphics card but the stream is actually fine as a recording can be played back using VLC media player (It's a software issue rather then hardware).' It was to do with the setup of the renderer, under general settings in Win TV 8.5 located at the bottom of settings page. I have previously left settings for rendering as EVR (ticked) and never had any problems with this default setting. The Hauppauge technician got back to me today with comments listed below:- 'I am%100 certain it is graphics related, in the WinTV settings / General there is a section for Video Renderer, can you try changing the option and then re-start the WinTV?' I did as instructed and started with ticking the box for 'Overlay'. Picture restored.

Many thanks to all offering their help in this Forum. I trust that solution found is of help to other members with this problem. Special thanks to Hauppauge for their assistance in this matter. Escan serial key free download.
