Four Black Dots Ontario Drivers License
Said by: Hello everyone, I had a few quick questions about Ontario drivers licences. I got my G licence last year in may and on the licence itself it has an expiry date called 4b EXP 2015/08/06. What does that expiry date actually mean? Do I need to get it renewed? Should I be driving with this? Another quick question, how do we know if we can 'teach' g1 drivers, someone told me that if there are 4 black dots on the front neat the bottom then that is good enough, is this true? Thanks! No one seen the 2015, you have until Aug 2015.
Said by: Also if you have an accident you will most likely not be covered by your (or your parents I assume) insurance for driving with an expired license. Actually he probably would be covered, but it would be a a major headache to deal with.Could be. Nevertheless, not something I'd want to risk nor deal with!

Easier to keep my license to date and my insurer with no reasons to give me a hard time. Edit: Here's a piece that discusses just that. Said by: It would be far easier to simply renew your license.
My point was that your insurance will probably still cover you despite being stupid enough to not do that. And yeah, that article discusses one case. There have been others. My sister in law was in the wrong place at the wrong time on hwy 417 and two cars beside her ran into each other and then skidding into the side of her truck. Her insurance wouldn't pay for the damages as it turns out her license had been suspended 2 days prior for non-payment of a ticket. Same happened to my brother his birthday is at the end of March and he was rear-ended but figured he'd wait until he got paid the next week to renew his license, insurance didn't cover him.
My father almost had to start his driving process over again. He never received notice his license expiring and as he doesnt have a car registered to his name, didn't receive a plate reminder. Gis birthday and expiry were in July and that September he lost his wallet and went to get a new card and was told he had let it slide. It took a supervisor to waive him going through his graduated licensing again. Said by: My father almost had to start his driving process over again. It took a supervisor to waive him going through his graduated licensing againYou can renew a full license up to 12 months after it expired with no tests at all and up to three years after it expired with just an eye exam. Past that you have to do the graduated licensing process again except there is no waiting period between tests. If it has been invalid for over 10 years you have to do the graduated licensing process including waiting periods.
