I've reinstalled a game onto windows 8 pro which I had on windows 8 release preview. It worked fine before, and when I tried to start it the first time, it said I had a missing dll, which was fine, so I downloaded it and extracted into the sys64 folder.

I then tried to open the game again. This time I got this error: 'The ordinal 42 could not be located in the dynamic link library C: WINDOWS SYSTEM32 xlive.dll.' The live programme I suspect the xlive.dll is referring to is microsoft games. I've also downloaded xlive.dll and extracted it into SYSTEM32, and it didn't work, I just got the same error message. The error message appears as soon as I click on the game.

Let’s download Xlive.dll from the following link and check if that helps. Method 1: a) Download the package b) Right click the package and choose 'Run as Administrator' c) Install the application and restart the computer. D) Try and run the game and check if the issue persists.
